Aaron (Moses ???) Mills was born around 1783. He married Nancy Ann Hoover in 1806. She was born around 1785 in Back Creek, Randolph County, North Carolina and was the daughter of Jonas and Rachel Briles Hoover. [Click here for information on the Hoover Family]

- Nancy was a first cousin three times removed to President Herbert Clark Hoover.
- Nancy was disowned because she forsook the Quaker Faith.
- Nancy could not speak English until the age of twelve.

Henry Jones Mills, born in 1834, first married Elizabeth Browner. Elizabeth
was the daughter of Bossel and Rachel Jones Browner and she died 7/15/1864.

Henry then married Susan Jane Browner 16 days after Elizabeth's death.

- Susan and Elizabeth were sisters.
- Henry died in 1868 due to exposure form the Civil War.
- After Henry died, Susan married William L. Mitchell.

- Sarah Elizabeth Mills, born 5/3/1865 in Graham County, NC. After her mother remarried, Sarah was sold at age thirteen as an indentured servant.
- George Washington Mills, born 12/19/1866 in Graham County, NC
Third Generation
George Washington Mills, born on Dec. 19, 1866 in Graham County, NC married Ella Burris on April 10, 1898 in Madisonville, Tennessee. Ella died April 16, 1950, and George died Oct. 11, 1933. Both are buried in the Old Madisonville Cemetery, in Monroe County Tennessee.

- George and his family moved to Sunset, Washington in the early 1910's. They moved back and forth from Tennessee to Washington about three times before setteling in Tennessee.

Aaron Holmes Mills, born Nov. 15, 1905 in Monroe County,TN, married Bernice Crowder on Nov. 15, 1925. She was the daughter of Elizabeth Crowder Underwood and step-daughter of George Caswell Underwood. Bernice died July 12, 1997, and Aaron died June 30, 1950. Notes for Aaron H. and Bernice Crowder Mills:
- Aaron was the Chief Deputy of Monroe County under Sheriff George "Chief" Tallent. He was hit by a hit and run drunk driver in Madisonville, TN. He died two weeks later from his injuries.
