SIR WALTER OF SPRUCE MEADOW
- "Wally"
- Our foundation stud dog.
- Wally passed on at the age of 10 from an apparent brain tumor in 1995. He was an exceptional dog, having the temperament to tolerate most anything. Goat kids used to use him like a rock. They'd climb on him and jump off and Wally just let them have fun. I clocked Wally running at 35 mph. He was a fast boy.

SAMANTHA OF SPRUCE MEADOW
- "Sam"
- Our first foundation bitch
- Sam was an amazing girl. She whelped puppies like it was an everyday thing. She'd care for other bitches puppies. Sam's only trips to the vet were for rabies shots and to be spayed. She died in June of 2000 at the ripe old age of 14 years and 4 months old.

SPRUCE MEADOW'S SUZIE CUE

- Our second foundation bitch.
- Suzie was too calm for me. She went to a pet home after producing a couple of litters and giving us our wonderful Tyke, who's listed just below. Her very calm attitude suited what her new family was looking for.

SPRUCE MEADOW'S LITTLE TYKE
- "Tyke"
- Tyke passed away on 8/11/99 at the young age of 10 1/2. The cause was cervical cancer. She wasn't uncomfortable for long because the cancer took over very quickly. We miss her tremendously. She was a very bright, intelligent, and special girl. Please spay your pets early to prevent this from happening to you.

SPRUCE MEADOW AURORA IN BLUE

- She is pointed
- Aurora died from a heart attack early November 2000. We knew of her heart condition and her death was expected. This was primarily caused from a low thyriod condition. The low thyriod isn't what caused the heart attack, but the lack of activity all of her life due to the low thyriod is. She just never excercised and was weak. However, none of her kids have low thyriods, which kind of indicates it's not hereditery. She was a combination of our foundation stud dog and both foundation bitches. Every smoothie in our kennel today goes back to Aurora. So, she was a major influence on our dogs today. And trust me, no dog here is lacking in energy! I wish I could slow them down a bit.

- Tootsie won two 5 point majors before finishing, is herding and agility titled, and was high in trial with a score of 97/100 in the herding trials at the collie national in Riverside, CA 3/11/02 where she also received her versatility award. Tootsie is one of the youngest collies to earn this award.
- She was trained and handled in herding at the 2002 CC of A National by Sherry Moss, Nirvana Collies.
