We are a Classic Thunderbird Club that is forming under the direction of CTCI in the Knoxville area of East Tennessee.
Our first meeting was held in November 2007. There are around 25 active members and we are looking to grow that number with
folks that have an interest in the Classic Thunderbirds (1955-1957). While owning a Classic Thunderbird is desirable, it is
not mandatory. Only an interest in the Classic Birds is required.
Our meetings are held on the third Thursday of odd numbered months (i.e. the third Thursday of March) at 6:30 PM at Ryan's
in Alcoa.
Activities planned for the first half of 2008 are March 1 - a tour of Garrett's Muscle Car Museum and Tennessee Museum
of Aviation Warbird Collection. April 12 is a tour of the Panasonic plant. May 24 is the Swift Aircraft Convention at McMinn
County Airport and June 21 the SMCTC club picnic. August 19 - 48 in '08 Classic Thunderbird Tour of 48 State Capitals in 2008
in Nashville ....more to follow. Activities are subject to change so please contact Sharon Jurkonie to confirm activity dates.
If you are interested in enjoying your Classic Thunderbird with folks of a like mind, please contact us as we are anxious
to have you join the club and participate in the many activities that range from driving events, restoration, shows and socializing.
Our officers are:
