My dear dulcimer friend, Sandy, gave me this fun little 1967 manufacturer's box, and it came complete with recipe cards. When I was a kid, we lived in England and my parents brought back this amazing pottery from a trip to Canterbury. At home recently, I ran across the candy dish (I think it was really an ash tray)--with the beautiful Canterbury cross in the center--and it inspired this piece.
