Lee Rowe, America's National Dulcimer Champion in 1999, brings his skills as a writer, arranger, and player to the Quartet. He can play a fiddle tune faster than you can listen and can make the dulcimer tell a soulful story with the old folk ballads. Lee defines versatility...listen to his sensitive playing on "Minuet in G" followed by his driving bass line on "Old Joe Clark!"

Lee is also an outstanding graphic designer, and his work can be seen on many dulcimer players' CD's including David Schnaufer's Uncle Dulcimer and the Quartet's Four Part Inventions. Lee currently is the Exhibit Manager at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.

Lee began playing the dulcimer as a teenager in Portsmouth, VA, and he and wife Carolyn (a great Quartet supporter!!) moved to Nashville in 1996 shortly after their marriage.

Lee has also recorded two individual CD's - Wire and Wood and Memories, Ghost Stories and Second Chances. Both CD's feature Lee's original compositions.
